A new beginning...

The greatest joy you will ever experience is the joy of knowing that your past has been forgiven, your future is filled with promise, and God is right beside you. If you want to experience that kind of joy, you've come to the right place.

When we submit our heart and lives to God, he saves us, delivers us, and makes us whole.  He gives us strength to turn from our old ways, and to follow Jesus. He forgives us of our sins, and puts us on a path of true peace, true righteousness and true joy.

Romans 10:9 says: “If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Salvation is God’s free gift to us. When we accept it, we we become His children in a brand new way.

Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

It is an irrevocable acceptance into the family of God and it is an empowerment to live abundantly by using your gifts to serve God and others.

If you are not sure whether you are right with God, or you know that you need Jesus in your life, you can choose to follow Him right now.

Following Jesus simply means that you put your faith in him -- that you believe in your heart that he died, was buried, and rose again for you -- and that you have committed your life to love and obey him. If you have made that decision, CONGRATULATIONS! You are a follower of Jesus. Welcome to the family!

Who Is Jesus?

The questions we have about God are endless: “Is God real? Does he care about me? Can I have a relationship with Him?"

The Bible may not answer every question about God – and sometimes even leads us to ask more questions – but one of the areas where the Bible is absolutely clear is the answer to the question: Who is Jesus?

The Scriptures call Jesus “the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.” (Matthew 16:16). Jesus was not merely a great moral teacher, on par with Socrates or The Buddha. Jesus is the very son of God. He was God in the flesh. He was killed on a Roman cross, was buried in a borrowed grave, and was raised to life three days later.  He was not merely a man. He was God with us. And he wants a relationship with you.

C.S. Lewis, a well-known Christian author, wrote of Jesus, “I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."

This is how much God loved the world: He gave His son so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

John 3:16 MSG

DOES JESUS CARE ABOUT ME?

Yes, He does! How do we know this?

We sometimes disqualify ourselves from God’s love because of our history, our failures and our shortcomings. We believe we're far from God and nothing can change that.

The Bible says that nothing in all of creation can separate us from the Love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. To accept God’s love is to trust His patient, forgiving and gracious stance towards us. Only He has the power to free us from guilt, shame and condemnation, to give us a life of wholeness. All we have to do is turn to Him and accept His forgiveness.

By opening our lives to God in Christ, we become new creatures. This experience, which Jesus spoke of as the new birth, is essential if we are to be transformed nonconformists . . . . Only through an inner spiritual transformation do we gain the strength to fight vigorously the evils of the world in a humble and loving spirit.

-Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King
