ONE FAMILY LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

YEAR-LONG INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

SEPTEMBER - APRIL

APPLICATIONS OPEN SUNDAY, MARCH 2ND!

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Are you a high-school graduate (ages 18-29) who wants to grow spiritually, develop your leadership skills through real responsibilities, and do this in a small community of others in your age group?  If so, then the One Family Leadership Academy is for you!

Some interns plan to go into formal ministry and others don’t have that plan.

Some interns work full-time, part-time, or are in college while participating in the program.

We strive to make the academy available to as many people as possible! The program runs from September through April each school year, with a break for Christmas. Time commitments vary by position, so if you can fulfill the time commitments, you should apply!

    WHY ONE FAMILY CHURCH?

One Family Church is a growing multi-site, multi-ethnic, multi-generational church in the St. Louis region. We believe strongly in investing in you, the next generation.

The One Family Leadership Academy was intentionally designed and created to invest in individuals ages 18-29 that are hungry to grow both spiritually and in their practical leadership experience alongside others. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply for one of our positions.

    1. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

A weekly intern gathering is dedicated to spiritual growth and to leadership development. Through a carefully curated and developed curriculum, you will learn valuable concepts and skills to put into practice immediately. We also bring in guest speakers so you get the best guidance and teaching in specific leadership areas.

    2. SPIRITUAL GROWTH & MENTORSHIP

Our staff is committed to investing time, effort, and energy into your personal and professional growth. For the duration of the program, you will work with a designated staff member, whom you will meet regularly with to plan and execute projects and initiatives.

    3. PRACTICAL SKILLS THROUGH EXPERIENCE

Developing essential skills for ministry and leadership, such as communication, organization, problem-solving, and event planning, through real responsibilities and hands-on experience that you can use to effectively serve and lead anywhere.

    • If you are still in high school, we encourage you to get involved in One Family Youth. If you are 30+, we encourage you get involved in a Life Group. For both situations, a big opportunity is to serve on the Dream Team at our Young Adult Events. To serve on the dream team for Young Adult Events, please email Drew@onefamilychurch.com.

    • It depends on your internship position. Some positions are Sunday-focused positions, where you get the most experience and learn the most during our Sunday Celebrations. For these positions, you allowed to miss up to 4 Sundays while in the program.

Other positions are not as Sunday-focused positions; for these positions, we strongly encourage you to be actively serving on the Dream Team twice a month. View the Program Manual for specific time requirements for each position.

    • We aim for 5-10 interns. We have found this is the best number for our staff to effectively invest in so that interns have the best experience possible.

    • Applications open Sunday, March 2nd and close in early April.

    • Staff will review all applications and determine which candidates move to the interviewing stage. Typically one interview is held, and internship opportunities are offered by May 1st.

    • Most internship opportunities fall in the 5-15  range for total hours per week. View the Program Manual  for specific time requirements for each position.

    • Some interns plan to go into formal ministry and others don’t have that plan. No matter what you plan to do after the program, it’s our prayer that you will be a stronger leader and light for Christ wherever you are!

    • This internship is an unpaid opportunity. One Family staff and leadership invests time, effort, and energy into your growth and development.
